Assay preparation
Remove 1Strip from its package, taking care not to allow any portion of the tip to adhere to the packaging material, transfer to a 100-mLvolumetric flask, add 50mLof water, shake the flask vigorously, and dilute with water to volume.Shake occasionally, and, after 1hour,mix the contents of the flask.Transfer an aliquot (
V)of this solution,equivalent to about 100µg of fluorescein sodium,to a 100-mLvolumetric flask,dilute with water to volume,and mix.Transfer 3mLof the resulting solution to a 100-mLvolumetric flask containing 20mLof pH9.0alkaline borate buffer (see
Buffer Solutionsin the section
Reagents,Indicators,and Solutions),dilute with water to volume,and mix.
